i cqn see ,onst blqnc fro, the hotel lobby here in chq, inox frqnce:

darn this european keyboard. i didn't know they were different.

i can see mont blanc from where i type here. it is stunningly beautiful here and i a, confident know that this is a great invesment in ,yself. myself. the village is perfect, full of french looking buildings, cafes and creperies. the skiing here is apprently amazing, at the aiport this morning there were busses of skiiers... and the ,ountain is still covered in snow, although there are waterfalls running down it because we are, apprently, in the ,idst of a very unseasonal heat wave. great. hiking in รงร  degrees is not planned on, but we will be ok. i think. it is always shocking to actually see the 15,000 ,ountain loo,ing out your hotel window. (and seeing the buff and gergous european ,en walking around the village looking like they will be able to run up the ,ountiain.... ) i reread the handbook quickly and wondered briefly if i wwas thinking properly when i signed this body up? wished i had had time to train more, but ultimately, it is fine.

i will share that the spirit has been wispering something to me in these mountain breezes. it says... you are enough. everything you are and have done and still have left to do is enough. this is deep rest to my soul, and is simply another step of truth, a bit for me to absorb.

it's an odd morsel to find here, amidst beautiful strangers who speak different languages and carry the, selves with a juex ne se quah. but i feel something intangible and necessary opening for me.

ok, apprently the swiss speak french and german. yeah, embarrasing to publish my ignorance, but there you have it. oops.

this is slightly humorous... last night in the hostel was an oven. seriously, i thought i might die of no air circulation. i took a cold, and i mean grandma v swimming in the ocean cold shower.... before i went to bed, drank so much cold water... and slept for about two hours before i woke drenched in sweat. went to the bathroom and my face looked like a lobster. like i said, apparently we're having a heat wave here.... and the little tiny window in the room did nothing. so i ended up showering three times through the night to lower my body temp. slept with water bottles all around me. but I SLEPT! thank god for that, i woke up feeling pretty rested.

the rest of the group is great. i look forward to spending the week with them. there is something so neat about gathering with a group of strangers to begin a journey together.

we have to take two cable cars tommorow to get to the start of our hike. that's how steep it is around here... will write again tommorow before we leave chaminox.

thanks for the blessing tami.

from the orthodox christian liturgy:

"Be mindful, O Lord, of those who travel by land, by sea, and by air; of the old and young, the sick, the suffering, the sorrowing, the afflicted, the captives, the needy and the poor; and upon them all send forth Thy mercies, for Thou art the Giver of all good things.
