i ran late and long tonight.  the night is dark here, moon just a sliver now.   i was trying to make it to the bridge that winds over the stream, but even with brand new running shoes i had overestimated how far it was.  i did pass the plastic brown horse though.  and the big white and steepled church.  and the wide front porches with hanging baskets overflowing.  the memorial library, where i had my piano recitals in high school, under many american flags on street posts and alongside the trains' horn on the other side of the river.

came home and solfeged lullabies with mom for the folk research transcriptions due tommorow.

ate berries in a bowl and put ice on my knee.  showered off three layers of humid sweat and scrubbed and lotioned my skin.

feel alive and imagine that the life i've always wanted to live just may be here already.
