i am finishing our song indexing project for folk research class. my brain hurts from too many tunes and too little sleep. i feel like a college student again.

the days have been cool here, and last night our strawberry social folk dancing party had to squish an 8 piece folk music "band" and 60 dancers inside the old home of our professor after is started pouring minutes after we were scheduled to contra dance in the driveway. it was the most fun i've had in a long time, and i told my mom this morning that it was almost a "throwback" experience that made me long for life in a culture where people drink lots of wine and dance to live music and flirt with boys and sing ballads with 12 verses until early in the morning. we sweat in the humid air and screamed with delight, bumping into each other constantly as we danced crowded on the wood floors of the living room.

i feel more and more myself these days, and even when the darkness comes, i will try to breathe in the freedom of jesus, and listen to the spirit within me. he says "it is ok".
