exhausted beyond the saturation point, i was glad to drive home today in the rain and not have many hours of solfege and master copy homework ahead of me. instead i called my niece, who is still two. we talked about how she just fell down in the driveway and wants to read a book. she is keeping my special bear in her bed with her until i go back through boston next weekend.
my dad flies back from asia tonight, and in an hour or so my high school band director and his wife come over to take me to dinner. i haven't seen lazz in ten years or so... i attribute much of my love for music, and my decision to go into education, to him.
we laughed till the point of tears again, and i wish there was a way i could share music education jokes over the internet. i'll just say it is great to be among colleagues where humor is valued. it brings a whole new perspective to life as a teacher.
