i'm praying i passed the music praxis test for my clear CA credential. "they" say it's hard to pass, very subjective essay pieces that require lots of quick and thorough thinking on complete, good, music ed pedagogy. it's good to be held accountable, challenged as a teacher... and somehow even the test is part of bringing to life the skills and training i have. getting ready to move forward.

spent the rest of the weekend painting with friend deb, and in the company of my forever reading roommate leslie. it was nice to spend a day at home, in stinky paint clothes with hair piled up and flecked with riverbed and swiss coffee. took many breaks to play more bach. drank ice coffee with afternoon sunshine breezing through front windows. sat on the front porch resting and watching laughing girls chase the ice cream truck. scrubbed and vacummed and loved my floors and walls. prayed before chicken soup and gave thanks for home and roof and food to eat.
