hiking tonight was perfect. i love dusk, the sun slanted sideways and cool shade. my body feeling strong and able, sweating and breathing and a sense of being clean on the inside. los angeles feels more managable to me these days. spent the weekend enjoying new things here. live music. different neighborhoods. being outside. good people.


and i cannot say thank you enough for this new professional year. i feel alive as a teacher in a way i've never felt before. i cannot point to one specific thing, but the chance to teach what i've dreamed of, the support of such great colleagues, classes full of richness and creativity, moments of beauty that makes the hair on my arms stand up, conversations with teachers from all over the world on grassy fields where we play games until dark. and... a readiness and hunger in me to fall in love with the "work" of my life.
