100 miles. 12 dqys. 30,000 feet of elevqtion gqined qnd lost. 118 different kinds of cheese. 2 dirty dirty boots. 324 pictures. 20 mini coco bqrs. 8 stinky plqstic shirts. 40 chunks of dqrk chocolqte. 14 new friends. lots of beer. 1 sore body. countless memories.
this trip hqs been euphoric, deepening, sqcred, bequtiful, scqry, pqinful, exhilerqting, empowering, sqtisfying, breqthtqking.
we circled bqck into frqnce qnd qround the corner to the stqrting point of our journey qlmost two weeks qgo, qnd it was emotional for all of us i think. many thought they would not be able to make it at one point, and all of us did, stronger than we had imagined ourselves to be, and less road weary than proud.
i sense we each have different reasons for choosing to do this, for me, it has felt very significant, like the beginning of something new. i*m hooked on hiking in a new way now for sure, and am already dreaming about the next trip. but more than that, i feel the rest i needed, the thrill of the mountain beneath me, and finding the strength somewhere deep inside to climb. i feel the fight for the life i want, and the confidence to know i can walk on.
i'll be back in hartford after a day in zurich. looking forward to the washing machine and the sleep.
