spent the morning in bed yesterday. delicious to sleep in with fans soothing and sunlight held back by white curtains. read halfway through wally lamb's book "Couldn't Keep it to Myself, Testimonies from Our Imprisoned Sisters". a compilation of writings by women in prison in connecticut, the book is strong and refreshing to me. true stories, heartbreaking and creatively written. issues of empowerment continue to capture me, and it seems this is another example of what it looks like to become empowered. there is something about writing, remembering, and telling the story.
