the morning is quiet and cloudy and i wonder/hope it will rain on our dry land today. i'm grateful for work that suites me, for a cleanly mowed lawn and the smell of pine sol in my bedroom, for a true conversation with some of my students yesterday, one that i hope moved them forward in their own walk. grateful for parents that come when i ask, even though i live 3000 miles farther than their cute grandchildren. grateful for a sense of home in my own body that feels more and more comfortable and at peace. grateful for plenty. grateful for lack. grateful for ice coffee and girl talk. grateful for space to feel what i carry, for safety and tools to travel the path of redemption.

and so my spirit says thank you.
