internet right now is very easy to come by in capetown... (and i will be at the same email address all summer). it's amazing how similar everything is here to the US, easier even. we don't even drink tap in CA! people have a hospitality and warmth that is refreshing, especially after such a long flight. thank you Lord that i didn't throw up as we were landing this morning as the sun rose over the mountains. i really thought i was going to lose it, and they don't even have the normal barf bags anymore.

it's beautiful here... i've been in a bit of a daze today, but we made it to the new Robbin Island museum where they have lots of documents and things from the time of political imprisonment that was really SO recent. we were looking at these "preserved" protest posters and "historical" photos, then i look across the bay and see the same signs still standing... less than ten years ago South Africa finally left aparthied. the tours there are all given by men who were imprisoned with Mandela... great first hand info, and great to see people talking so openly about racism.

lots of things to buy... hard to know how to take home all of this.
