busy day... slept well and hard and long. great breakfasts here by the way, full omlette, ham, bacon, toast, tea, fruit and more every morning. ate with hebrews and am challenged by new things God is showing me. i feel excited about persuing some potential giftings that i have been praying about, an exciting surprise amidst all that i am seeing and experiencing here.

spent the day at a HUGE market in JoBerg. bargained a bit, bought a lot, and am excited about bringing home gifts for people and touches to add to a new house.

what beautiful art the people make here... and then sell it for mostly nothing. the economic insights are a bit overwhelming... as we were leaving with our many many packages, people were trying to sell us these beautiful fabric paintings for 20r (about $2 US)... knowing that it took them hours and even days to paint them was hard. how can you respond to the poverty of a nation, of a continent? in our humanness we will never be able to relieve injustice. this is a difficult thing for me to reconcile.

we go on a soweto township tour tommorow and then fly to kimberley in the afternoon. i will try to be back on email mid week next week... we will be just meeing teachers and principals next week, planning and getting our classroom ready. then we start our six weeks of teaching the following week. i am excited to collaborate with other teachers on the program, and teachers in my school, who all have great music skills and work with the chorus and other special groups (dance and singing) at the school.

no more words to describe thick emotion.
